OH
MY
BEAUTIFUL
JESUS.....
So, today it really hit me. IT'S CRUNCH TIME. D: I'm gonna be honest, i'm a little stressed. hahahaa. Basically, i looked up and we've got about....5 weeks until our films are due! lol. Soooo needless to say it's time to GET TO WORK and keep my head down and work hard on what I'm doing. I've been pretty sucessful i guess. Im getitng close to having a lot of my scenes at least worked on a little bit. My mentor told me that having a totally finished product isn't necessarily what I should be going for or what people truly care about when it comes to the producers show. They just want animation in every scene. No storyboards. So I'm trying really hard to at least do that. BUT i'm crazy and i wont settle for less than my goal. Thank God I have a friend who's helping me color. I still haven't taken my scenes to full color/texture since my test scene.
I'm trying to make some executive decisions right now. Like, what do I need to have totally animated and what can i get away with just being a dynamic hold. There's a lot of problems i need to solve. Firstly, the treatment of water in my film. Secondly, shadows and depth. I still need to talk to my film workshop teacher. She's been very helpful in helping me figure out what i need to do to get this where i want it to be.
I have a lot of faith in my film. I know that i have goals and I know they are attainable. I just need to totally buckle down and get used to working late into the night. I was on a pretty good sleep schedule until this week! Now it's gonna be no sleep, just work. I'M READY. Let's take this head on!
I haven't heard from my composer since my last blog entry, but I have a lot of faith in him. He's really good and I know he's going to give me something amazing. I'm still toying with the idea of having a sound designer. We'll see.
Anyways, I've decided that i'm going to make a habbit of updating my animatic with animated scenes. Mostly to see how they all flow into each other and also to just see my overall progress. This is a vital step that I sorta neglected last year. My work flow is finally becomming pretty consistent and easy to work with. At least I got that out of my second year film! hahah. Well here's what i have so far up to this date! Tell me what you think. :)
Also, i did some drawing of my male character and discovered a way of drawing I really enjoy. I love drawing on cintiques. I'm going to make sure that when lab sign ups happen, all i need to do is composite and color so I dont need a cintique. There's only....9 on campus and i know they're popular!'
